Job Summary
Works under the supervision of the Division/Department Head through immediate supervisor as directed or required. Duties include telephone reception, registration scheduling, filing, timekeeping and using customer service skills, preparing, and editing purchasing requisitions, inventorying all supplies to meet requirements, placing orders with vendors, maintaining a filing system, updating records as required, and evaluating cost purchasing from various vendors. Gathering and entering data into a computer and interacting with vendors in case of delay in delivery of supplies, receipt of damage, or incorrect quantity of goods. May be required to cross-train to other programs within Administrative Services. Schedule calls for Monday-Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm; occasional nights and weekends may be required.

Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent. Two (2) years of clerical or similar clerical background is required. Proficiency in performing the essential job functions of Administrative Clerk I. Pass the Health Department clerical testing.

REQUIREMENTS
Must possess a valid Illinois Driver’s License with minimum auto liability insurance. Verification of U.S. citizenship or employment eligibility.

DESIRED
Ability to learn and use state programs for Grant Management and filing.

Salary Range

Grade 9 Hourly Wages ($17.39 – $25.82)
